My Response to Arthur Miller's The Crucible
I choose to blog about the 4th response dealing with the production of the play itself. The set of the play had just the right amount of objects. There wasn't too much furniture or decorations. This really helped the overall quality of the play. With a plot like that, it could be easy to clutter the stage with beds, dressers and other props. They kept it simple, yet efficient. It was really something to watch. The characters seemed extremely enthusiastic. The way they use tone of voice really grabbed my attention. They seemed to have master the old accents. It was easy to see how much time and effort was put into the production of this play. I can't say who was the best actor. The man who played John Proctor did a great job with such a large role, but all of the actors did a great job overall. I also thought the woman playing Abigail Williams did a great job selling the fact that she was in so much distress. The crying, screaming, and attempt to fly, was very impressive to me. The costumes were perfect, it gave you that sort of real feeling. Almost as if you were watching a live TV show.
I believed the performance was great. It was actually my first time attending any play. I'll be honest and say I thought it would be a boring thing to do. I thought it might be a good time to take a snooze, I was proven wrong. The play was interesting and it kept my attention the entire time. Great job to the actors and people who put together this play.
